Leonor Alves is a registered clinical psychologist with over 20 years of clinical experience nationally and internationally providing counselling and psychotherapy, clinical supervision and training of psychologists. She completed her graduate degree in Psychology at the University of Porto and the University of Minho, in Portugal. She has two Master’s degrees: one in Counselling Psychology of Young Adults and Adults, and one in Clinical Psychology. Leonor has extensive expertise working with a wide range of clinical issues and has in-depth knowledge of clinical principles, methods, and procedures for psychological assessment and intervention. She has completed training in Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Psychotherapy, as well as Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT).

Gender identity and sexual orientation are areas of interest for Leonor, both clinically and in her research, and she welcomes LGBTQ people.
Her psychotherapeutic orientation is integrative: she combines different therapeutic tools and approaches to fit the needs of the individual client. She believes her strengths as a psychotherapist are her knowledge, strong commitment to helping others, hard-work, authenticity, and ability to be attuned.
Leonor provides therapy for young adults and adults. As a multilingual clinician, she is able to provide therapy services in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
