Ira Gandasaputra

Ph.D, R.P., RMFT-S, Registered Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor

I am a Registered Psychotherapist, an Approved Supervisor candidate for American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and have served as a Clinical Supervisor for interns, as well as psychotherapists seeking to be registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario (CRPO), AAMFT and OAMFT (Ontario Association for Marriage and Family Therapy).
My goal in supervision is to help each therapist develop as a competent, confident, lawful and ethical professional. My approach to both therapy and supervision is heavily influenced by process-experiential therapy known as Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). In therapy, I follow clients’ emotions and facilitate deeper emotional experience and productive emotional processing. I believe in the curative factor of the empathic relationship and strive to create a safe environment for my supervisees.

More Than Just My Work

“Emotion is not opposed to reason. Emotions guide and manage thought in fundamental ways and complement the deficiencies of thinking.“ Les Greenberg
