Annemarie Stigter holds a Master of Arts in School Psychology from Mount St. Vincent University, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (with Honours) from Acadia University. Her experience is primarily in providing psychoeducational and/or ADHD assessments for individuals who struggle with learning and/or ADHD as well as providing strategies to address ADHD-related symptoms through coaching/counseling sessions.
Her work helps to address learning, mental health, and behavioural concerns that are impacting a someone’s learning and behavioral functioning while incorporating practical supports and recommendations. As part of the comprehensive assessment process, she considers developmental and medical history, social and emotional functioning, environmental and cultural background important factors that can influence functioning at home, at work or in a learning environment. Assessment outcomes include helping individuals and their families build a comprehensive understanding of strengths and challenges, helping to understand how to advocate for support, as well as providing specific recommendations for remediation and compensation strategies.
Annemarie’s current clinical interests include working with child, adolescent and adult populations on learning challenges as well as emotional and functional behavioural challenges.
