Amanda Gouthro is currently in her final year at Acadia University for a Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology. She is completing a portion of her practicum placement at True North under the supervision of Patricia MacDonald. Amanda has worked at True North in the past as a clinical assistant for three years, and as such has experience with individuals who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression, and stress including active military members and veterans.
Her training has focused on Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based approach to treatment. She is also developing her training in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) during the upcoming year. Amanda currently has an interest in working with children, adolescents, and adults to diversify her training experience
