Nancy Adams is registered as a Psychologist by the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology. She has a B. Sc. (Honours) in Psychology from Dalhousie University and an M.A. (Counselling Psychology) from Trinity Western University.
Nancy works mainly with adults. She has experience working with: depression, anxiety, worry, workplace stress, low self-esteem/assertiveness, obsessive-compulsive thoughts and behaviours, life transitions (such as retirement), and trauma. She has a particular interest in pain (acute or chronic) and traumatic brain injury, such as after a motor vehicle accident.
In therapy, she draws on several approaches (cognitive-behavioral, emotion-focused, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, and solutions-focused) to design & implement the best treatment for each client. The goal is always to help clients develop the skills they need to help themselves, now and in the future.
