Kelly Isenor

MSW, Clinical Social Worker

A registered social worker and private practitioner in Nova Scotia and Ontario, I provide trauma-informed individual therapy to adults who are seeking assistance with:
– Mental health
– Coping with life transitions and events
– Adverse childhood experiences
– Event processing
– Emotional regulation
– Behaviour change

With a background in psychology and social work, I use best-available practices to inform myself and those I work with. I use aspects of Trauma-Focused CBT, DBT and narrative therapy to engage clients in psychoeducation, skill development and narrative processing, to help them best understand their emotional, somatic and behaviour-based responses to people and events.

I believe that learning about topics such as the mind-body connection, emotional development, identities and relational roles help us to create a greater understanding of oneself and those around us.

My previous area of work in direct service provision include members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, the neurodivergent community, the spoonie/chronic illness community and those that have experienced intimate partner/domestic violence, sex trafficking, forensic psychiatric services and adverse childhood experiences.
