Kara is a Clinical Social Worker. She has experience in numerous settings including working with adults with various mental health and substance use disorders in the justice system and the Nova Scotia Health Authority. Kara works with a variety of presenting concerns including: anxiety, depression, trauma, harms related to substance use and difficulties coping with emotions and relationships. Kara utilizes evidence-based treatments such as: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Mindfulness practices.
