Rates
Rates for services vary by clinician and the service you are receiving. Rates can also be different depending on the province in which your clinic is located. Please ask one of our team members about the rates at the location of your choice.
Insurance Information
Provincial health insurance does not cover the cost of private psychological services. However, most extended medical insurance policies offer coverage for psychological services. We encourage you to consult with your insurance company to learn about coverage available to you. True North will provide you with receipts for services that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement (if applicable). These receipts are also tax-deductible medical expenses if paid out of pocket, either in part or whole.
Helpful questions to ask your insurance company:
- How much coverage do I have per calendar year?
- How much do you cover per session (e.g. 100%)? Is there a copay?
- Does my plan cover the services of a Registered Psychologist or Candidate Registered Psychologist?
- Do I require a physician’s referral to receive insurance coverage?
- Is my plan eligible for direct billing?
- How do I submit my claim for reimbursement?
Tips for Students!
If you are a post-secondary student, you likely have insurance through your school that covers psychological services. We strongly recommend you checking with your school about your insurance coverage, many of which cover in part or whole the cost of assessments and counselling sessions. You may also be eligible to receive funds for services through you school’s accessibility services. Please check with your school to learn about their funding opportunities.
