Olivia Brown received her Masters of Arts Degree in Counselling Psychology from McGill University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (Honours) in Psychology from Acadia University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Degree from Dalhousie University, and is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. She has experience working with clients of a diverse age range, although her clinical training has focused primarily on adolescent and adult populations. In providing treatment, Olivia’s approach is integrative, with the aim of tailoring therapy to the particular needs of each client. Her training and practice is trauma-informed, and combines modalities including Cognitive-Behavioural, Dialectical-Behavioural, and Solutions-Focused Brief therapies. She views clients through a holistic lens, and endeavors to foster feelings of safety and trust within her therapeutic relationships. Olivia enjoys working collaboratively with clients to unearth deeper personal insight and to empower the positive and constructive changes they seek in their lives. Olivia’s current clinical interest areas include working with trauma, depression, anxiety, stress, attachment issues, and behavioural difficulties among adolescent, adult and veteran populations.
