MA, Candidate Registered Psychologist

Amadea completed her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at McGill University, located in Montreal, QC. Throughout her career, she has worked in multiple post-secondary institutions, community organizations, and private practice.

Amadea aims to create a warm, collaborative, and compassionate space for her clients in order for them to feel heard and seen. Amadea believes that healing occurs within relationships, and as such, she prioritizes the therapeutic relationship above all else. She practices using an integrative approach, primarily using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and draws on Sensorimotor psychotherapy, mindfulness, attachment theory, and Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), among others. Amadea is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based therapy for processing trauma.

Amadea aims to practice from a culturally infused, 2SLGBTQ+ affirmative, intersectional lens, and welcomes clients from all backgrounds, cultures, abilities, and orientations. Her approach to therapy is trauma informed, drawing on her training in EMDR, EFT, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.

Amadea enjoys working with adults, young adults, and students experiencing a range of challenges including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, difficulty in relationships (family, romantic, friendships), emotional challenges, identity exploration, self-esteem challenges, body image issues, life transitions, among others.
